“The city has experienced past disturbance affecting lives of innocents, and I humbly appeal to my good people in and around Honiara to refrain from nuisance and be responsible as good citizen of this country,” he added.

He said Honiara accommodates the Government, Ministries, Businesses and other important services which serve the nation and it should not be disturbed.

Meanwhile he calls on the Churches, three Honiara MPs, HCC Councillors and community leaders to encourage people within their respective communities to be peaceful and refrain from any actions that might have consequences.

The Acting Mayor also acknowledged the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force for ensuring that the City is always safe.

He added that Honiara is diverse and the peaceful co-existence must always be maintained.

Aiwosuga further thanked the SINU Tourism and Hospitality students for the cleanup within the city and the underpass at Mendana Avenue, and wish them the best in their studies.
