Civil Society Groups in Solomon Islands have unanimously agreed over the weekend to accept the Prime Minister's invitation to discuss issues they are concerned about.

A spokesperson for the Civil Society Group and Executive Officer for Transparency Solomon Islands, Joses Tuhanuku, stated in an interview with Radio New Zealand that the groups have agreed to meet with the prime minister.

"We requested to have an audience with the prime minister and a few of his ministers either today or on Wednesday. But we haven't heard yet back from them."

The Civil groups consisting of the Union, National Council of Women and Transparency (SI) have spoken out against the appointments of Jahir Khan of Fiji as the new police commissioner who started his job this week, and Australian Julian Moti as Attorney
General.
