Police have arrested a 25 year old man from Northeast Guadalcanal in relation to the Ngorou murder incident in November 2001.

A 50 year old woman and three children, two aged 12 and one a five year old were killed in the incident.

The arrest was made following investigation by police detectives with the support of RAMSI police Advisors who conducted a search at a residence at Foxwood east of Honiara.

In November 2001, the 25 year old man was allegedly part of a group of men who were responsible for firing semi-automatic weapons on a utility vehicle.

The vehicle was carrying a large number of passengers including women and children bound for a clinic at Ngorou.

The 25 year old suspect is also wanted by police in relation to the attempted murder of another 15 people who sustained injuries during the attack.

Three other suspects are currently in custody awaiting trial in relation to the same incident.
