Dear Editor,
The problems and challenges faced by the electoral system in relation to ensuring that elections are free and fair, is a real challenge. For a start, amend the current electoral act to do away with the first past the post regime and replace it with a limited preferential system like other commonwealth countries are doing. The other important and practical solution is for every voter to have an ID with their photo, name and the polling station s/he is to vote at on the ID. Apart from that there is no other better means than continuous educating of the people. Surely these undertakings cost money, a lot of it, but if one believes in value for money I believe spending to ensure the country has a fare and free election is a worth while undertaking.
