Cuba may be a little well off than us (Solomon Islands), so their Government has been so generous to offer scholarship in medicine to our children. Twenty five are now doing their studies in Cuba. Through this site I learnt that this may increase to sixty.
I have just watched a TV coverage, showing the victims of hurricane Gustav and Ike in Cuba. They are picking the debris that remains from their destroyed homes to rebuild themselves. A woman in tears is left with only the concrete floor of her home - everything has been destroyed.
I trust the Solomon Islands is thinking of Cuba to reciprocate their generosity with a small donation. Taiwan on this side of the world has also been badly affected with typhoons.
