East Rennell Lake Tengano residents would do well to consider their whole island may have sunk down a little and that the lake water level is not actually rising.
At time of the SI Western province earthquake that generated the tsunami that came into Gizo, New Georgia and Rendova islands sank down. One resident at Munda measured the drop to be 800 millimetres, and another resident said 850 mm.
At a reef near Munda there is no longer need to walk and push canoes at low tide. The whole reef has gone down too.
Be sure that ocean water level can not just rise in one part of the world only. To my knowledge the ocean level rise in Australia is just one single millimetre a year. There is no noticeable rise of Aus ocean water.
