To the Editor:
I am worried we will not be able to stop the virus from coming to our country. I know the border is a very hard place to monitor the movement of people. The area is too big to monitor, and if the virus is spread in Bougainville than people will try to escape and the closest place is Shortlands.
I think government should just try and put in a place a community type of police system where you engage locals close to the border. Or maybe use existing people like the community officers, and give them some power to arrest or detain people that cross over. We should also have a quarantine place in Shortlands so that they do not have to bring them to Gizo or Noro.
We are lucky because we are separated by the sea but we must do our part and help those monitoring the border area.
