As Earth Island Institute monitors the dolphin safe tuna worldwide, we have direct contact with Dong Won Korea.
A senior executive of Dong Won has confirmed to me that the company will NOT proceed with its factory in Guadalcanal until it is assured by the govt. of Solomon Islands that the dolphin captures and trade is banned permanently.
Earth Island will not grant a dolphin safe certificate to Dong Won or any other factory in Guadalcanal until this disgusting trade in live dolphins is officially ended.
The readers of your paper have a right to know the truth! Therefore you need to tell the whole story and explain to the public that Dong Won will not proceed as long as the Govt. drags its feet on the issue of the dolphin captures and exports. The captures and trade must end now! Despite the claims by Robert Satu.
