I am not surprised we again have a situation where everyone is unhappy at Gold Ridge and surrounds. I wonder how much research the Government did into looking at the problems of the past to avoid the same happening again. There is a major research work conducted by the late Dr John Naitoro that looks at what can be achieved by careful, thorough and diligent negotiations with all parties. Its called "Articulating kin groups and mines : the case of the Gold Ridge Mining Project in the Solomon Islands ". It makes interesting reading. There should be a copy in the National Library.
