Our recent election has been hailed by overseas election observers as free and fair and honestly, that is very much the way it ought to be.
Personally I thought this was the worse, most corrupt and troubled elections this country has ever had in the last 3 decades, if one would regard the 2006 riot as an isolated incident. I hope for the next elections, a better system is put in place, including the elections of the country's PM.
Sad to say, whilst some of our people can easily come up with 1001 reasons to elect sick and unfit people into parliament than not, it seems building a rehabilitation and home care center for sick and crippled parliamentarians instead of a detention center for asylum seekers is a not-too-distant-off a thought worth considering for all it's worth.
Respect,
Anthony
