Dear editor:
It is terrifying to note that some business people and foreigners in Honiara are imposing their due expectations on the local people to speak their language- english in order to be caught up in their network and business world of esteem... I hate those people!
Its unfair! While some of us who have the opportinuty to come out in the enlish speaking world and have been pressured to speak english with no option, I do expect those self-esteemers to learn to cope with Solomn Island culture, local languages and of course Solomon pidgin.
Solomon Islands government should not allow such a bully tactic to be bred on the soil of Solomon Islands. Its not fair to our local people. If I don't understand english, why force me to learn it while you yourself do not understand a single word in my local language yet you feel hesitant or willing to learn it.
Confidence in speaking english
