Not long ago the PM announced a 261 million shortfall attributed to global financial crisis; just lately the PM again announced millions unaccounted for (433 millions) almost double the amount of 261 millions. There is no clear indication as to how much is caused by loss of revenue and how much is caused by the government machineries/systems faults. May be the various audit reports does show this. This is a huge amount of money we are talking about and it seems the government is not serious enough about it, let alone mentioning it. If it is through malpractices then seriously the government has do more about its systems of monitoring and accountability or what measures or actions to take.
