Whether you live in the States, Japan or out in the rural areas of Solomon Islands we will all feel the pinch of the price increase not only on food items but basically everything.
The current price hike is due largely to increase of fuel costs world wide. Even a food producing country will still experience price increase but probably to a lesser extent.
Increasing scholarships for food science related field of study for solomon islanders is a positive step in the right direction. This should have been an important policy for the government to reflect upon its BUA. Never the less, we still need other fields of expertise as well.
The ministries responsible should now work on identifying which road map we suppose to follow and identify priority areas of training our resource personals.
Price increase
