While the idea of a youth parliment has its own merit, it is also important to consider what would have been best for our youth.
Certainly, one million dollars would have benefited some youths of the 50 constituencies a life time as they will get $200,000.00 each if it was spent on youth groups or some individual youth members to use on projects like encouraging the youth to utilize their coconut plantation, cocoa plantations, fisheries, caperpentry, sewing other than talking for a week and forget all about it.
Another question is which parliment would our youth parliment mimic as the credibility of our own parliment is now too often on the spotlight. What ever it is, spending one million dollars on our youths just to share ideas for a week does not help our youth at all in the long run. To say the least our youths are not the problems it is our leaders that are the problems.
Youth Parliament - Is it an opportunity worth a million dollars?
