Dear Editor,
I would like to contribute to the ongoing discussions on RCDF. At this instance, I would like to direct the line of discussion on the source of the funding. Whose funds are we talking about? What is the aim/intention of providing these funds to the Solomon Islands? Why does ROC channel this funds through the MPs despite its continuous criticism of misuse?
Given the above questions and what appears to be the reluctance of MPs and ROC to improve the management and the accountability of these funds, I would like to think as follows:
1. RCDF appears to be a political tool used by ROC/Taiwan to maintain/strengthen Solomon Islands' diplomatic support/recognition. Just wonder what will happen to SI-ROC relations if this so-called RCDF is channelled through the normal government system?
