Spousal Grant
I just wanted to make a quick note on the above that while the recommendation of the Parliamentary House Committee may indeed unbinding to the actions and decisions of parliament, the fact that that process has bee used to review the spousal grant is already an achievement on its on. Convention stands that recommendations of the Standing Committees be taken seriously by Parliament. However, in the issue of the spousal grant we can only wait and see what action the parliament will take on the matter. For sure, if the decision of PEC is upheld by the Committee and Parliament, then come the dissolution of parliament next year, more than 5 million SBD will be expended only for MP's entitlements. How sad!
