I would like to respond to the news article re: the above subject. A couple of years ago (and maybe last year as well), a similar response from authorities i.e. National Council of Women, SI Ports Authority and others convened a meeting after an article was put out on prostition in Honiara. This group met maybe once or twice and nothing happened after that. It seems that when this issue is brought up, this organizations would meet and then we do not hear from them after that except that same old, "this is bad... the women are doing this because they need money" etc. etc.
I hope that this time round we will see some actions.
