In last week's defence of his wife's dual appointment, Huniehu shifted the argument and accused solomon Islanders of being sheilaphobic. He went on to raise the issue of gender equity. Rubbish!
Headlines today tell of Huniehu revoking his wife's appointment and looking for 2 females as replacement. I can only guess that he was asked to do so by the government, which is good news, good for the government and good for Huniehu. But the real winners here are us, those who saw the appointment as nepotism and screamed foul play.
Two things, we saw that it was not right and blew our whistles. The government heard and unlike the previous one, they listened and acted appropriately. Now that's healthy politics.
Huniehu Revoked wife's appoinment.
