Chronic poverty in Solomon Islands is a consequence of collapse of traditional fish resources and barter trade. Many people have moved to town in search of employment and money to survive but there is not enough for everyone.
I informed the Australian Federal Police of the situation and warned that police would be injured as a consequence but reply advised the matter would not be investigated.
RAMSI was sent to SI to collect guns and force the peace but the need for economic development has not been addressed.
Now it is a downhill run for SI as the situation worsens without due attention and solutions.
