Dear Editor,
Well, as far as artists in the Solomons are concerned, to my observation, since our country gained its independence from its colonies, not much has been done concerning protecting the copy rights of our Artists.
From my observation, here in Fiji, the habbit of remixing Solomon Islands' Artists' songs becomes a profitable practice.
The question comes to mind is that are there any copy right laws put in place to tackle this issue?
What should be done about this? The reason is that the more reluctant our authorities are, the more profit will be generated in the habbit of remixing the songs done by Solomon Islands artists.
An evidence of this remixing was done with the Wantoks song called Ramkangi.
