Gizo Hospital Opens Early For Surgery in 2017

Gizo hospital in the far Western Province of Solomon Islands will be open for urgent surgery from Monday 16th January until Friday 27th January 2017 to try to help deal with extra burden placed on surgeons in the Solomon Islands with the recent unexpected leave of two surgeons.
Students will begin Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in 2017 in fields including health, education, Information Technology, business, law, engineering, environmental studies and gender.

Solomon Islands new High Commissioner to Australia, His Excellency Collin David Beck, presented his Letters of Introduction to the Prime Minister of Australia, Hon Malcolm Turnbull yesterday at the Office of the Prime Minister in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Building in Sydney.
The epicentre of the quake was registered at a depth of 48.7km, according to USGS.
