The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) would like to clarify a number of points regarding the minimum wage. Firstly the SICCI fully supports the review of the minimum wage, recognizing that the current level is outdated. Secondly, and opposed to recent media reports, the SICCI made a submission to Labour Division, Ministry of Commerce Industry and Employment, in January 2007 regarding the proposed legal minimum wage review.
