A women's mini trade fair was officially opened in Munda at Western Province this morning.

The mini trade fair, organized by the Roviana women, was officially opened by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Employment, Mr. Peter Shanel.

In a phone interview, Director of Government Communications Unit, Mr. George Herming, said that the event is a one-week show.

Solomon Times was informed that the show will promote industry to rural areas and women will, basically, display and advertise their own-made products.

"From advertising and displaying their products, these women will also earn money," said Mr. Herming.

He said the Roviana Women's Trade fair was fully supported by the Solomon Islands Government, as part of the Bottom-Up Approach Policy.

The Roviana Women's Trade fair will officially close on Friday 27th of October.
