The Solomon Islands Western Provincial Premier has described his recent trip to South Korea as an eye-opener.

George Solingi Lilo says the trip was an opportunity to look into future investments for the Western Province.

The Premier's purpose for the travel was to visit Eagon Resources investments in South Korea where he learnt how the investments can be diversified in the Province.

Eagon Resources is one of the major investors operating in the Western Province.

Premier Lilo says the trip was also to establish a possible sister relationship with one of the cities in South Korea with an aim to bring in technical specialties to establish a master plan for the Western Province's sub-stations.

The Premier says the trip gave the opportunity for his delegation to look into other small to medium scale investment opportunities.

The three day visit was funded by Eagon resources and a private company also operating in the Western Province.

Mr Lilo says the trip being funded by the two companies falls in line with the Province's policy on Public private partnership.
