Weekend Basketball, Mt. Dazzer Conceded Defeat

Mt. Dazzer conceded a stunning defeat to Arasina 55-28 at the multipurpose hall in the second league match yesterday. Many came to watch a quality game dominated by national players.

An exuberant Arasina showcased a strong performance to defeat the squad dominated Dazzer. Dazzer started with Waige Turueke, who played his first game since his prolonged absence from Solomon Islands basketball. Arasina maintained the lead in the 1st quarter 16-9 to excel in the 2nd quarter 30-15.

The ever skillful guard for Arasina and former national Sammy Gwali showed why he is a top all round player in the league. His consistency and leadership on the court pushed Arasina in the 3rd quarter to a 42-17 lead.

Dazzer played a quiet game with national rep Waige Turueke playing a very cautious game and at times enlightened the crowd when he got his hands on the ball. The national players in the team were also injury conscious as they prepared to tour Australia this week.

In the other games Andel 2 lost to Telekom 29-55, whilst Andel 1 defeated the QQQ Marist in the last match of the day, 39-30.
