The Prime Minister expressed these sentiments in his condolence message, broadcasted live on the national radio.

The Prime Minister described the late Minister Sanga as "a proud Solomon Islander who loved family, loved life, loved to have a laugh and loved his work."

Mr Sogavare stated that yesterday was an extremely sad day for Solomon Islands "we have lost a great leader, an MP who totally committed himself to improving the quality of life of this country"

Mr Sogavare said Sanga truly cared and was genuinely concerned for everyone he came into contact with. "This has earned him an enviable reputation of being able to transcend all political barriers, which made him universally respected over political and social sectors of our country" Mr Sogavare said.

The late Sanga, Member of Parliament for East Malaita, passed away yesterday morning after suffering a heart attack.
