Veteran Politician Loses Seat

Another high profile candidate has failed to retain his seat.

The former Member of Parliament for Russells & Savo in the Central Islands Province, Sir Allan Kemakeza, has bowed out after srving five terms in Parliament.

He lost to a teacher from Nukufera in the Russell Islands, Dickson Mua Panakitasi.

A veteran politician, Sir Allan brought the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands in 2003.

Meanwhile, the East Kwaio former MP, Stanley Sofu, has retained his seat.

Constituencies still to release their official results are:
Guadalcanal - 6 constituencies
Temotu - 2 constituencies
Malaita - 3 constituencies
