USP Appoints New Vice Chancellor

The University of the South Pacific (USP) has appointed Professor Rajesh Chandra as its new Vice Chancellor.

According to Fijilive, Professor Chandra was unanimously voted by the USP council in Tonga on Tuesday.

Professor Chandra was a former Pro-Vice Chancellor of USP and Vice Chancellor of Fiji's new university, the University of Fiji, which was established in 2004 but officially started in 2007 and saw it first graduates early this year.

Professor Chandra's appointment will be for two years.
