Telekom Says Sorry for Poor Service

Solomon Telekom Company Limited has apologized to the general public and Breeze Mobile customers for the unsatisfactory mobile service that had been experienced in recent months.

In a public apology sent to most media outlets, the company says last October the Board of Directors "authorized expenditure in excess of $SBD100 million dollars to completely replace and upgrade the mobile phone network."

It says a project of this size is not something that can be completed quickly but their partners, Huawei Technologies of Australia, are working fast to install the new equipment and it is expected to be in service towards the end of March.

Our Telekom says it assures all customers that they share with them their frustration and ask for their patience as they strive to complete their new mobile network.

It promised to bring new value and a new way forward for telecommunications in Solomon Islands and their customers.
