The Rural Constituency Development Fund, RCDF, has been released to government by Taiwan.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Rural Development, Fred Fono has officially received the second payment of the RCDF on behalf of the Solomon Islands Government from the Embassy of Taiwan in Honiara.

In thanking Taiwan, Mr Fono described yesterday's official release of the funds as a "firm and timely" support for the needs of Solomon Islanders.

Charge d'Affairs of Taiwan in Solomon Islands Ben Wang, said his country fully supported the C-NURA Government to implement the rural policy to help rural advancement in Solomon Islands.

He said the fund should" contribute greatly to the alleviation of poverty and improvements in quality of life for people in the rural areas."

Acting Prime Minister Mr. Fono said that the funding would greatly improve the life of people in rural Solomon Islands.
