Tahiti has beaten Solomon Islands 2-1 in the Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, Under-17 Championship, in Auckland, New Zealand.

Tahiti scored in the 55th and in the 85th minute Solomon Islands goalkeeper, Misimake, turned the ball into his own goal for Tahiti's second goal.

Solomon Islands substitute Waimora scored Solomon Islands only goal in the 88th minute.

In the other Group B match today New Caledonia defeated the Cook Islands 8-one.

Tahiti now lead Group B with a maximum of six points after having played two games.

New Caledonia is second with three points with a better goal difference over Solomon Islands, who also have three points.

Solomon Islands' next games will be against Tonga on Thursday and their final match against the Cook Islands on Monday next week.

Tomorrow, in Group A, Fiji will face tournament favorites New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will take on American Samoa.
