Solomons to Commemorate Founder's Day 2008

The National Scout's Association together with the Girl Guides Association will jointly host the Founder's Day programme for 2008.

A ceremonial parade will be displayed on Saturday's event, which will take place at the National Museum compound.

His Excellency Sir Nathaniel Waena and Lady Waena will address the scouts and girl guides with the founder message.

The Founder's Day is a global celebration of "World Scout Day".

Members will mark the birthday of Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden Power the first, which falls on 22nd February every year.

Scouting and guiding is listed as the world's biggest youth movement.

This year's celebrations of the scouting movement will be marking 101 years of existence, attracting more than million young people and adults from around the world.
