Solomon Islands will be represented at a conference in Bali, Indonesia.

The General Secretary to Solomon Islands National Union of Workers (SINUW), and National Secretary to Solomon Islands Council of Trade Union (SICTU), Tony Kagovai, will leave the country Sunday to attend the Building and Woodworkers International conference.

The three days conference is mainly for the Asia Pacific regions, which will take place from 30th of November to 2nd December 2007.

Organised by the FSP KAHUTINDU in Indonesia, the BWI conference will focus mainly on logging and forestry.

FSP KAHUTINDU is organizing over 100,000 workers in Forestry, Woodworking, Pulp and Paper, Plantation and Allied Industries in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Mr. Kagovai will also be attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference (Kyoto Protocol) in Australia, as representative of the SINUW in the Solomon Islands, from the 3rd to 15th of December 2007.

While in Australia, Mr. Tony Kangovai will also be witnessing the general election in Australia.
