The Solomon Islands Police Force (SIPF) will be leading an operation for this week's Parliament meeting with support from their RAMSI Participating Police Force counterparts and military.

The operation will commence today and continues through the sittings of Parliament.

Heightened visibility of security has been in place, which will be more evident with an increase of mobile patrols in and around Honiara over the next few days.

Acting Commissioner, Walter Kola, is urging the public to refrain from anti-social behavior.

He warned that police, who will closely monitor the situation at Parliament House and in the capital city, will not accept any such behavior from the public.

Mr. Kola called on members of the public to remain calm, and to maintain law and order during the upcoming Parliament sitting.
