Solomons Not Ready for Local Police Commissioner

The Solomon Islands Police Force is not yet ready to have a local Police Commissioner.

This was revealed by the Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Hon. Samuel Manetoali in Parliament, following a question raised by Hon.Waipora regarding the appointment of a local Police Commissioner.

It is known that the appointment of a Police Commissioner will be revealed when donor funding for the post is secured and other documents are finalized.

Currently acting as Police Commissioner is Mr. Peter Marshall from New Zealand.
