Solomons Lost to Costa Rica in Opener

Costa Rica have survived a late scare, beating the Solomon Islands 4-2 in the Group E opener of the Futsal World Cup which is underway in Columbia.

Alejandro Paniagua and Carlos Chaves both scored to give Costa Rica a 2-nil lead in the first half.

Paniagua then scored his second of the day after the restart to give his side a 3-goal advantage.

But, Elliot Ragomo pulled one back for the Solomon Islands only for Erick Brenes to gift Costa Rica a 4th. Jeffrey Bule, however, scored for the Solomon Island to cut the deficit to 4-2.
