Sogavare Acknowledges RAMSI's Work

While welcoming the forum review team to the Solomon Islands, Sogavare took time to acknowledge RAMSI's significant contribution towards law and order restoration in Solomon Islands.

Sogavare stated that the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands played an important role in advancing good governance and reviving the Solomon Islands economy, currently one of the fastest growing economies in the region.

Mr Sogavare said his Government was committed to working closely with RAMSI and longed to see the Australian-led Pacific Islands regional initiative successfully implement its mandated task. He said that the recent appointment of a distinguished former politician, Michael Maina, as its special envoy to RAMSI speaks volume of the government's level of commitment.
