The Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau officially launched their new Friday night at the Honiara Hotel.

The new look website, www.visitsolomons.com.sb is visually stunning and is very user friendly.

The Visitors Bureau newsletter reports that the website has been completely restructured and has received a complete visual makeover, making it one of the leading travel websites in the South Pacific.

The Newsletter quotes the Bureau's General Manager Michael Tokuru as saying that "the launch was a great day in the development of tourism services for Solomon Islands."

He said the Bureau now has a website that is a one-stop shop for anybody traveling to and around Solomon Islands.

The newsletter says that the site will also make it possible for all tourism operators as well as local business to advertise on the site.

Mr Tokuru said that it is a great opportunity which will enable service providers to reach potential tourists before they have even left their homes.

The website project begun in August of 2007 and managed by Alejandra Cares Henriquez, an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development who joined SIVB on a 12 month volunteer contract.
