The Chief Justice, Sir Albert Palmer, has welcomed the advertisement of sixteen new positions within the Justice Department.

Posts being advertised include a Chief Magistrate and three Principal Magistrates, senior executive officers as well as a Sheriff and deputy Sheriff of the High Court.

Sir Albert said that for justice to truly become visible, tangible and accessible to the whole community, the judiciary system needs the right people with the right skills in place as soon as possible.

The Chief Justice Sir Albert said it is encouraging to see progress in Government's commitment to strengthen the justice system in this year's Budget.

He said it is vital to the future of the nation that these posts are filled by the best people, those who understand how important it is to continuously improve the quality of justice delivered to the people of Solomon Islands.
