A one week media advocacy workshop organized by the Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) for all media organizations in Solomon Islands began yesterday.
The aim of the workshop is to enable media organizations to be informed on what SIPPA is, its services and its programmes in the country.SIPPA also took this opportunity to provide awareness and accurate information on HIV and AIDS and sexual and reproductive health issues currently faced by Solomon Islanders.
The workshop is also aimed at strengthening partnership between SIPPA and Media organizations in Honiara.
George Pitakoe, the Programs Officer for SIPPA urged the media participants to make good use of the workshop adding that SIPPA is looking forward to empowering media personals on the correct information on sexual related health issues in the Solomon Islands.
The workshop is attended by more than twenty participants from various media organizations, some of whom are from the Government sector and Non Government Organizations.
The workshop will end on Thursday.
