With just over six months in office, Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Dr. Derek Sikua, will face his first no-confidence vote in the upcoming meeting of Parliament.

Leader of Opposition, Manasseh Sogavare confirmed on the SIBC that he will move a no confidence motion saying that the Sikua government had failed miserably to deliver on services it had promised to the people of Solomon Islands.

Mr. Sogavare said it is now seven months since coming to power but it had not achieved any of the many promises made to the people. He said Government had failed to seriously address the two of the most pressing issues currently being faced by the country, the high cost of food and fuel.

The Opposition leader said these things are very important because they have direct impact on the personal lives of ordinary Solomon Islanders.

Mr Sogavare said the Government had also failed to solve the strike by employees of Our Telekom.

He said this failure will certainly cause negative impact on the communication network which is an essential service to the country.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Environment, Conservation and Meteorology, Gordon Darcy Lilo assures the people of Solomon Islands that members of the Coalition for National Unity and Rural Advance government are intact.
