The country's national broadcaster, the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC), will be supporting and promoting local musicians.
The SIBC's General Manager, Cornelius Rathamana, said this will be part of new programs which they will introduce this year.He said in support of local music industry, the SIBC will introduce an annual music award which aims at promoting music in Solomon Islands.
Mr. Rathamana said that the planned annual music program will also engage talented young musicians to stay intact in music.
The annual music program is among other important initiatives that SIBC will introduce for improved service to the people.
