This morning, Solomon Times along with other media counterparts were invited into the RAMSI base with an informal meeting and a tour of the base.
Following the informal meeting with Commander McDermott, a tour through the compound was conducted by the RAMSI PPF Media Advisor, Ms Erica Hanisch.The media group was taken through each part of the camp where each purpose of the area was explained.
Apart from the accommodation camps and the impressive medical department, the RAMSI base also boasts a recreational area complete with a post office and an internet café.
The Guadalcanal Beach Resort is a 'town on its own', making sure the RAMSI officers are well catered for.
The media group left the base around 11.30pm very much impressed and happy to have had the opportunity to visit the RAMSI Base.
