Malaita people have been placed on the anvil with a recent call to respect other ethnicities by Malaitan Premier Richard Namo Irosaea.

Speaking during celebrations to mark the province's 26th Second Appointed Day last Friday, Premier Irosaea says Malaitans might be hard workers but their arrogance has no place in the province's development and progress.

Mr Irosaea says Malaitans should stop boasting and ask themselves why they are often not welcomed into other homes, communities or provinces.

The Malaitan Premier also expressed disappointment in what he has termed as the 'new breed of Malaitans'.
