Police Still to Identify Dead Body

Police are again calling for assistance from members of the public who may have any information in relation to the dead body that was discovered near the SDA Varamata Church along the road to Vara Creek.

Medical authorities have examined the body and police have obtained additional features that may assist in the identification of the deceased.

Examination has revealed tattoos on the upper left arm of the deceased. The tattoos were; a fish similar to the commonly Rennell Bellona fish tattoo and below it; a crucifixion (cross) with a lightning bolt base and below the cross was a Swastika insignia commonly known as a German Star, with a small circle in the middle.

The feature is the deceased had a missing tooth from the lower set of teeth.
