Police Dismiss 'Underground Army' in Makira

The Makira-Ulawa Provincial Police Commander, George Guna, has called on residents of Kira Kira to stop spreading rumors of the much talked about 'secret army'.

Mr Guna said that such rumors are causing unnecessary tension amongst the township of Kira Kira, reiterating the fact that there is no such thing. He says that people in Makira-Ulawa province, especially elderly women and children, should go about their normal activities.

Mr Guna believes that the rumors about the secret army are weird and, at best, a mere fantasy. Mr Guna says that the Police is investigating the rumor and anyone found to have started the rumor or being involved in spreading such false information will be dealt with accordingly.
