Police from Kukum Traffic Centre have charged two individuals after separate accidents overnight.

A 39-year-old male was charged with being unfit to be drive after he crashed his vehicle into a drain near Rove at approximately 2:30am.

In another accident, a 14 year old boy lost control of a vehicle when he was driving up Skyline Road.

The vehicle then rolled backwards and crashed into the drain near the Town Council Depot. Police have charged the youth for underage driving.

Superintendent Albert Samani from Kukum Traffic said it was a timely reminder for people to take care and drive to road conditions.

"The behaviour of drivers was excellent over the Christmas and New Year period. I urge all drives to continue this good behaviour and take care on our roads, particularly at the moment when there is a lot of water around."

"It is important to observe all the road rules and not drive after you have been drinking alcohol. It is not acceptable for a person as young as 14 to be behind the wheel of a car and unfortunately for him, it ended in an accident," he said.
