The touring PNG team ensured their Coach's words were true when they defeated that Solomon Islands Club Champions Kossa by 2-1.

The game which was up for grabs was eventually claimed by the touring PNG side in the second half when they scored two quick goals. Kossa FC, who dominated the first half, fought back towards the end but could only reduce the defecit by one.

Had Kossa's Joe Luwi converted a first half penalty, the game could have had a different result. Kossa's coach, Jacob Moli, who is assisting the National coach could only watch from the stands and he said Kossa could have won if Joe had scored.
"If Joe scored, the players could have lifted and put up a strong run towards the end."

Moli, however, accepted the defeat and said that the team lacked the experience of the senior players who are being rested to play on Friday with the National Team.

When asked about the National team's chances, Moli said the National team has a good chance and PNG may give our players a good run.
