Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua will leave the country today to attend high level meetings in three Asian countries including the Republic of China (Taiwan), Indonesia and Japan.

His wife, the Minister for Public Service, Milner Tozaka, Minister for Development and Planning, Steve Abana and the Minister for Provincial Government, David Pacha, will accompany the Prime Minister.

Dr Sikua's first stopover will be in Taiwan where he will engage in important meetings with top Taiwanese Officials from May 5 - 13.

Following the Taiwan visit, the Prime Minister will attend the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Inaugural Leaders Summit in Manado, Indonesia on May.

Solomon Islands participation is important because the country is one of six leading nations in the Coral Triangle.

From Indonesia, Dr Sikua will attend the Pacific Island Leaders Meeting Summit (PILM5) in Hokkaido, Japan from May 20 - 25.

The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to arrive back in the country on May 29.

During his absence, the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Fred Fono will supervise the Office of the Prime Minister.
