Interim President of OUR Party and Opposition Leader, Manasseh Sogavare has assured the people of Malaita of his party's commitment to ensure economic prosperity for Solomon Islands.
Speaking at the party's launch in Auki last Friday, Mr Sogavare said should his party form the next government after the national general elections; they would re-introduce the bottom-up approach development strategy.He said OUR Party was founded by the loyal members of the former Grand Coalition for Change Government.
Mr Sogavare says the party believes in a development strategy that centres on people, peace and economic prosperity.
He promised to decentralize development activities across the country to provide economic opportunities to people.

Manasseh Damukana Sogavare was the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands from 2000 to 2001 and again from 2006 to 2007. He has served in the National Parliament as Member for East Choiseul since 1997, and he is currently the Leader of the Opposition.
Sogavare, who previously led the People's Progressive Party, also led the Solomon Islands Social Credit Party into a coalition to oust Prime Minister Allan Kemakeza's chosen successor Snyder Rini.
